We’re a small business with limited resources, so we won’t pretend we have it all figured out. But we’re committed to making thoughtful choices and correcting course when we get it wrong.

Here’s what we’re doing to be as sustainable as possible.

Natural Materials, Thoughtfully Chosen

All of our bedding is made from 100% European Flax Linen—a natural, renewable fiber.

Flax requires significantly less water and fewer pesticides than cotton, making it one of the most environmentally friendly textile crops in the world.

Our linen is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, meaning it's free from harmful chemicals and safe for even the most sensitive skin.

Our Production Partners

We only work with partners who share our values around transparency, ethical practices, and long-term quality.

Our linen is sourced through a family-run business that’s been operating since the early 1900s.

They’re based in Belgium, right near the French border—home to some of the highest-quality flax in the world.

From there, our fabric is woven, dyed, and sewn by a trusted manufacturing partner in China who handles everything in-house.

They’ve been specializing in linen for over a decade and are true experts in their craft. Keeping everything under one roof helps reduce unnecessary waste and ensures consistent quality in every piece.

The facility undergoes regular SMETA audits, which assess everything from labor standards and health and safety to environmental impact and business ethics.

Our reversible duvet covers offer more than one look in a single set, giving you extra styling flexibility without needing to buy more.

You won’t find weekly drops or endless sales here. Instead, we focus on thoughtful design, classic patterns, and quality that holds up.

It’s not the fastest way to grow a business, but it’s the one that feels most true to us.

Small Batch Production

At Sunday Spell, we produce all of our products in small batches.

This means we don’t overproduce or chase fleeting trends—we create only what we truly believe in, with the intention that each piece will be loved for years to come.

Small-batch production allows us to:

  • Minimize waste by avoiding excess inventory and unsold product
  • Be intentional with every detail—from fabric choices to color palettes
  • Focus on quality, ensuring every item meets our standards before it reaches your home

The Product Journey: From Factory To Your Bed

We do our best to get each product from our manufacturing partners to your home with as little environmental impact as possible.

Items are packed at the source in certified home-compostable garment bags, which can go straight into your garden compost. For restocking, we choose sea freight over air shipping whenever possible to reduce carbon emissions.

Orders are shipped to you in 100% recyclable mailers. And to avoid waste, our thank-you cards feature original artwork on the back, designed to be framed or displayed in your home.

It’s all part of our effort to create less waste and more beauty.
